Aucune id&eacute;e s&rsquo;il est meilleur ou moins bien que les pr&eacute;c&eacute;dents, mais il donne envie d&rsquo;aller voir. Je saturerais si <em>METZ<\/em> passait la demi-heure, mais &agrave; 29 minutes et 44 secondes, douche comprise, &ccedil;a passe tr&egrave;s bien. L&rsquo;ensemble est  brouillon, j&rsquo;ai encore du mal &agrave; faire la diff&eacute;rence entre certains titres mais &agrave; c&ocirc;t&eacute; de &ccedil;a, le trio promet vraiment, sous r&eacute;serve de canaliser son &eacute;nergie et de travailler ses m&eacute;lodies sans  perdre  son imp&eacute;tuosit&eacute;. La suite, vivement. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/tag\/METZ-album\/\">En photos &rarr;<\/a>]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"disque\">\n<h2>8 | <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/photo\/2012\/12\/albums\/sleigh_bells-reign_of_terror.jpg\" align=\"left\" >Sleigh Bells &mdash; <em>Reign of Terror<\/em><br \/>\n    <span class=\"petit\">Mom + Pop &#8211; 21 f&eacute;vrier 2012<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Mes premiers contacts avec Sleigh Bells &#8213;&nbsp;le douloureux matraquage de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2kJ05P-71gY\"><em>Tell &#8217;em<\/em><\/a> &agrave; la radio tous les matins en 2010 en guise de r&eacute;veil-matin au bout de nuits trop courtes&nbsp;&#8213; reste un traumatisme. Fallait l&rsquo;apprivoiser, le premier album. Presque se forcer. Rel&acirc;chant vaguement la pression, <em>Reign of Terror<\/em> coule plus doucement. Presque poussivement, m&ecirc;me, pendant <em>Born  to Lose<\/em>, <em>You Lost Me<\/em> ou <em>D.O.A.<\/em>, qui lui valent cette 8<sup>e<\/sup> place. Mais le reste est terrible. Le duo crache toujours autant de hargne, de mani&egrave;re bien moins insupportable. Les riffs en scie  sauteuse et les rafales de basses satur&eacute;es sont toujours l&agrave; mais le  chant plus pos&eacute; d&rsquo;Alexis Krauss rend l&rsquo;ensemble bien plus accessible, presque m&eacute;lodique (ou alors, c&rsquo;est que je me suis accoutum&eacute;). Rien que pour des tours de m&eacute;tro avec <em>Demons<\/em>, <em>Crush<\/em> ou <em>Comeback Kid<\/em> &agrave; fond et des retours de soir&eacute;es sur <em>End of the Line<\/em>, <em>Reign of Terror<\/em> vaut une oreille ou deux.  [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/tag\/reign-of-terror\/\">En photos &rarr;<\/a>]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"disque\">\n<h2>7 | <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/photo\/2012\/12\/albums\/ting_tings_the-sounds_from_nowheresville.jpg\" align=\"left\" >The Ting Tings &mdash; <em>Sounds from Nowheresville<\/em><br \/>\n    <span class=\"petit\">Columbia &#8211; 24 f&eacute;vrier 2012<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Premi&egrave;re surprise de l&rsquo;ann&eacute;e&nbsp;: le deuxi&egrave;me Ting Tings n&rsquo;&eacute;tait pas sorti en 2011 dans l&rsquo;indiff&eacute;rence g&eacute;n&eacute;rale, comme <a href=\"http:\/\/thierrychatain.tumblr.com\/\">le comte Xanax<\/a> et moi-m&ecirc;me le croyions. Deuxi&egrave;me surprise de l&rsquo;ann&eacute;e&nbsp;: le deuxi&egrave;me Ting Tings est bon. Un simple qui tabasse, du <em>Day to Day<\/em>, du <em>Guggenheim<\/em> et une ribambelle de mini-tubes sautillants parfaits pour l&rsquo;&eacute;t&eacute;. L&rsquo;<em>In  Your Life<\/em> final les r&eacute;v&egrave;le m&ecirc;me sous un jour &#8213;&nbsp;ou peut-&ecirc;tre une nuit&nbsp;&#8213; que je n&rsquo;aurais pas imagin&eacute;. Les Ting Tings survivent bien et tiennent leur r&ocirc;le d&rsquo;outsiders capables du  hold-up. On ne leur en demandait pas plus. Puis la subite r&eacute;apparition cet &eacute;t&eacute;, <em>My  Love Won&rsquo;t Wait<\/em> qui envahit la radio et me voil&agrave; embrigad&eacute; une nouvelle fois par le duo  californien. Le Nouveau Casino&nbsp;? Inoubliable, mais inracontable.  Reste le disque, cette ma&icirc;trise du tout, cette agilit&eacute; &agrave; enfiler  les titres, 34 minutes onctueuses et r&ecirc;ches &agrave; la fois auxquelles j&rsquo;accroche &agrave; la premi&egrave;re &eacute;coute  sans me poser de question. Celui-l&agrave; surpasse les deux r&eacute;unis. <em>Observator<\/em> est tissu d&rsquo;ambiances m&eacute;talliques et noires paradoxalement douces et organiques. La voix de Sharin Foo y est pour quelque chose, &eacute;videmment, mais m&ecirc;me sans &ccedil;a, on trouve dans ce disque un flegme curieusement excit&eacute; parfait pour tourner la nuit dans des villes perturb&eacute;es. 10 ans, 6 albums et manifestement encore beaucoup sous la p&eacute;dale. L&rsquo;effet de surprise en moins, un peu de ma&icirc;trise en plus et une pochette toujours r&eacute;ussie. <em>Babel<\/em> est aussi &eacute;pique, aussi  direct, aussi &eacute;vident que <span lang=\"fr-FR\" xml:lang=\"fr-FR\"><em>Sigh No More<\/em><\/span>. Je l&rsquo;adopte &agrave; la premi&egrave;re &eacute;coute. D&egrave;s la deuxi&egrave;me, c&rsquo;est comme si je l&rsquo;avais toujours connu. Des ch&oelig;urs, des mandolines, l&rsquo;envie de courir dans les champs et la h&acirc;te irr&eacute;sistible de vite voir le tout repris en ch&oelig;ur par des foules. Ce groupe sera gros. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/tag\/babel-album\/\">En photos &rarr;<\/a>]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"disque\">\n<h2>3 | <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/photo\/2012\/12\/albums\/smith_and_burrows-funny_looking_angels.jpg\" align=\"left\" >Smith &amp; Burrows &mdash; <em>Funny Looking Angels<\/em><br \/>\n    <span class=\"petit\">Pias &#8211; 28 novembre 2011<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Avoir tourn&eacute; pendant deux jours de d&eacute;cembre 2011 dans un Londres &agrave; 2&nbsp;&deg;C avec ce  disque en boucle en a fait mon album de No&euml;l pr&eacute;f&eacute;r&eacute; de la vie.  Presque parfait d&rsquo;un bout &agrave; l&rsquo;autre. L&rsquo;&eacute;quivalent d&rsquo;un <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/2008\/12\/29\/2008en-4\/\">Into the Wild<\/a><\/em> troquant couchers de soleil d&rsquo;&eacute;t&eacute; et campagnes esseul&eacute;es  contre chocolat chaud et bi&egrave;re de No&euml;l dans des pubs londoniens aux fen&ecirc;tres pleines de givre et aux &acirc;tres tout chauds d&eacute;cor&eacute;s  avec des chaussettes. Ce mois-ci encore, je l&rsquo;ai &eacute;cout&eacute; douze fois. Un d&eacute;cembre portatif. La parfaite nuance de  bleu p&acirc;le. No&euml;l comme je l&rsquo;entends. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/tag\/funny-looking-angels-album\/\">En photos &rarr;<\/a>]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"disque\">\n<h2>2 | <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/photo\/2012\/12\/albums\/white_jack-blunderbuss.jpg\" align=\"left\" >Jack White &mdash; <em>Blunderbuss<\/em><br \/>\n    <span class=\"petit\">Third Man &#8211; 23 avril 2012<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>White &eacute;tait attendu  au tournant pour son premier v&eacute;ritable album solo &#8213;&nbsp;tous les  White Stripes sont des albums de White en solo&nbsp;&#8213; et le pari  est gagn&eacute;. Il n&rsquo;y a rien &agrave; jeter. Les morceaux les  plus nases ne g&ecirc;nent pas tellement, au final, et servent plut&ocirc;t de  copines moches au poids lourds du disque, <em>Sixteen Saltines<\/em> et son  riff de l&rsquo;ann&eacute;e en t&ecirc;te. Je garde <em>I&rsquo;m Shaking<\/em>, je garde <em>Weep  Themselves to Sleep<\/em>, je garde <em>Love Interruption<\/em>, je tique devant <em>Freedom at 21<\/em> et son air de <em>Seven Nation Army<\/em> jou&eacute; au ralenti et je garde les autres pour faire joli. Jack White assure dans tout ce  qu&rsquo;il fait avec classe et bon go&ucirc;t. Va falloir s&rsquo;y faire.  [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/tag\/blunderbuss\/\">En photos &rarr;<\/a>]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"disque\">\n<h2>1 | <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/photo\/2012\/12\/albums\/japandroids-celebration_rock.jpg\" align=\"left\" >Japandroids &mdash; <em>Celebration Rock<\/em><br \/>\n    <span class=\"petit\">Polyvinyl, 29 mai 2012<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>En 2009, Japandroids l&acirc;chait un <em>Post-Nothing<\/em> du m&ecirc;me acabit que <em>METZ<\/em>&nbsp;: beaucoup de potentiel, des tas de d&eacute;cibels entass&eacute;s n&rsquo;importe comment et l&rsquo;impossibilit&eacute; de s&rsquo;y retrouver tellement les morceaux se ressemblent. Les mecs tournent 18 mois avec, rentrent chez eux, s&#8217;emmerdent au bout d&rsquo;une semaine, foncent en studio enregistrer un disque pour repartir en tourn&eacute;e le plus vite possible et ressortent avec ces 8 morceaux tapageurs et intelligents, vari&eacute;s et rauques, poignants et exalt&eacute;s. Si <em>Blunderbuss <\/em>sent le contrat rempli, <em>Celebration Rock<\/em> est une surprise totale. 35 minutes, pas une fausse note, des textes accrocheurs et m&ecirc;me le luxe d&rsquo;une &eacute;panadiplose musicale. Tout ce qu&rsquo;il faut pour <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/2012\/06\/20\/and-if-they-try-to-slow-you-down\/\">rouler vite en Belgique<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/2012\/06\/11\/you-took-my-hand-through-the-cold-pissing-rain\/\">r&ocirc;der la nuit dans la gare de l&rsquo;Est<\/a> ou <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallendorff.com\/belogue\/2012\/12\/05\/and-turn-some-restless-nights-to-restless-years\/\">boire des bi&egrave;res avec ses voisins d&rsquo;en face<\/a>.
