Durant mon pass\u00e9 d&rsquo;intr\u00e9pide et jeune aventurier du rock n&rsquo;roll michiganais, j&rsquo;avais vu Muse et les Weakerthans jouer dans la m\u00eame salle de D\u00e9troit, le St. Andrew&rsquo;s Hall, 1&nbsp;200 places au compteurs dans une salle en \u2015&nbsp;vague&nbsp;\u2015 forme de Bataclan. De retour \u00e0 Paris, Muse se tape des Bercy pendant que les Winnip\u00e9gois se retrouvent \u00e0 deux enc\u00e2blures de l\u00e0, sous le pont d&rsquo;\u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9, au fond de la cale d&rsquo;un Batofar dont 95%<sup>1<\/sup> du public est manifestement nord-am\u00e9ricain. Autres terres, autres contrastes.<\/p>\n<p>Avec cet anglais ambiant et les \u00e9changes incessants public-sc\u00e8ne, l&rsquo;intimit\u00e9 de sa salle et l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re bon enfant qui y r\u00e8gne, le Batofar se paie des allures de Blind Pig qui me flatte la nostalgie. Les Weakerthans animent la f\u00eate avec une power-pop rythm\u00e9e abordant des th\u00e8mes graves comme le curling, le Canada ou la vie des chats, avant de verser dans le mou en plein milieu du set. Je baille. Le reste du public chante tout bas. Les Weakerthans sont manifestement de ces groupes dont il faut ma\u00eetriser les albums pour pleinement les appr\u00e9cier en live. Pour le reste, faut attendre que les Canadiens reprennent le droit chemin, ce qui finit par arriver en fin de set, quand le groupe se fend d&rsquo;un rock FM simple mais efficace sur les trois derniers titres avant de se barrer. Le rappel est assur\u00e9 d&rsquo;abord par le chanteur John K. Samson seul \u00e0 la guitare \u2015&nbsp;mais pas avant d&rsquo;avoir pris le public en photo&nbsp;\u2015, puis tout le groupe dans un <em>Pamphleteer<\/em> final choisi par une jubilante salle<sup>2<\/sup>. Rideau. Bon groupe, bonne soir\u00e9e, tout \u00e7a serait plus intense avec quelques r\u00e9visions pr\u00e9-concert \u2015&nbsp;d&rsquo;autant plus que leurs textes m\u00e9ritent le d\u00e9tour&nbsp;\u2015, mais les Weakerthans ont encore du boulot avant de s&rsquo;imposer en France. Pas gagn\u00e9.
