The aftermath.

Le Trianon, Paris, 15-16 mars 2013.

Everything went so fast, everyone passed by so quickly that, at first, I felt like the week end had lasted only for a second. Then I realized that I had been the one constantly running from place to place, that I had been the one trying to talk to fifty people at the same time, that I had been the one overwhelmed with stress from the moment when, on Friday night, we discovered that the drawings would not fit in the frames. We taped them at the wall, and then it became magical: known people came. Then unknown people came. Then Leah and Robert of the well-known band also came. We went from a deserted room to a packed-up rock et roll party, all complete with its people puking. Then Saturday was exactly the same except that, this time, the evening ended up in the strangest way, in that same room from last November with Peter and Robert discussing the moment when this photo could have been taken, based on chord positions and guitars used on the picture, something that no one had ever done with any of my photographs before (they figured Shuffle Your Feet out).

At 1:30 am, in that taxi driving us to Bastille, we looked at each other and realize how great what we just had achieved was. Three months of e-mails, negociation, stress, with me wanting to give up and her pushing me back on track and, as a result, happy people everywhere. Happy people make me happy.

I want to thank Sabine for everything she did. Paula for trusting us and joining in, the band and Grant and Dan for being so nice, Mathieu at Coop’ for helping us out, the Petit Trianon’s crew for lending us their space, Seb for being the first attending, Julian and Martinez for coming both nights, Ode for the pricing, printing AND plastification. Lala and Gaga for sacrifying their duties for me, the Châtelleys for being the Châtelleys, Adeline and her CM skills, my wife and Pierre for watching over the seats, Morgane for shooting and housekeeping, Tom and Shayna for filming, Morgan for bringing journalists over, Rwan’ for showing up, Chi for “dropping by”, Sabrina for the bunch of people she brought with her, the rest of my gang for their faithful support, Michela for her patience and the 400 people who came to party with us, showed up or just stepped in during those two nights. I apologise to all the people I forgot to mention and/or who are still waiting for me to “come back in a minute”. Sorry, guys. I was definitely not myself.

Photo credits go to Morgane Launay, @emelineuh, @joeller, @isachelley, @calamityode, @classicoinsta, @Morganvox, @adelerap and myself. Many thanks to all of you.

Following are the photos of the exhibition, including the two ones that we could not display for space reasons. Some are still on sale.
